Buy the Gail Jacket sewing pattern from Vikisews. Gail is a lined, semi-fitted, straight-cut puffer jacket. It features horizontal quilting on the front and back and diagonal quilting on the sleeves. The front is shaped with bust darts. The jacket has a shortened shoulder line and two-piece, set-in sleeves. The round silhouette of the sleeve is achieved with a shaped overarm seam. Gail features a stand collar and welt pockets at the front. It has a centre front closure with a separating zipper and zipper guard. There are belt loops at the sides of the garment for securing the tie belt. Gail is hip-length.

For the lining, choose lining fabrics made of artificial fibres (viscose), blends (viscose + elastane, viscose + polyester), or synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane).
For the insulation, use Alpolux, Isosoft, Thinsulate, polyester batting 100 g/m2 + polyester filling.
The jacket in the cover photo is made of outerwear fabric. This fabric is thin, soft, windproof, and water-resistant. The lining is 100% viscose. Alpolux 100 g/m2 was used for the insulation. Spunbond 30 g/m2 was used for the interlining. This material is also known as ‘agrotex’ and can be found in gardening or hardware stores.
Fabric requirements: When purchasing fabric, buy 5% more than required to account for shrinkage.
Main: 150 cm (59″) wide fabric, with a directional print/nap: 2.15 - 2.85 m (2 3/8 - 3 1/8 yd) // 140 cm (55") wide fabric, with a directional print/nap: 2.2 - 2.95 m (2 3/8 - 3 1/4 yd).
